With the literal translation being 'FIRE MEAT' is made of thin marinated slices of pork or beef often grilled on a fire pit or a simple grill. It is also often pan fried at home.
With a perfect blend of sweet, sour and salty this simple bulgogi dish can be made at home with little to no effort. It is a dish perfectly paired with kimchi and a bowl of rice. Simple, fast and packed filled with flavour.
Ingredients
500g Pork Belly
1te Sesame Seed Oil
1tb Light Soy Sauce
1ts Gochujang
1/2tb Honey
STEPS
Begin by slicing your pork belly into thin slices.
In a bowl combine together 1tb of light soy sauce, 1ts of sesame seed oil, 1ts of gochujang (if you want it spicier add more) and 1/2tb of honey.
In a wok or pan on high heat add in a little bit of sesame seed oil and char your pork belly slices in batches. You do not want to fully cook them, you just want to give them some colour.
Return all your BEAUTIFULLY charred pork belly slices back into the pan and add in your gochujang mixture give it all a good mix. Let the mixture simmer for 5-8 minutes till the pork is fully cooked.
Plate up and top with some fresh spring onions and sesame seeds.
