SOY GARLIC FRIED CHICKEN


No frying, but all the crisp and goodness of crispy tender FRIED CHICKEN, sweet yet savory with a hint of garlic. ​Perfectly paired with a bowl of white rice, or just by itself as an appetizer or a snack while binge watching your favorite shows. Super easy and quick, much faster than ordering take out and definitely MUCH CHEAPER.


Ingredients

  1. 400g Chicken Thighs

  2. 1tb Corn Flour

  3. 1 Cup Plain Flour

  4. 1 Clove of Garlic

  5. 1ts of Five Spice Powder

  6. 3tb of Vinegar

  7. 1tb of Honey

  8. 1/2tb of Dark Soy Sauce

  9. 1tb of Light Soy Sauce

  10. Non stick cooking spray

STEPS

Fried Chicken

  1. Chop your chicken into bite size pieces.

  2. Prepare a marinade of 1 tablespoon corn flour, 1 teaspoon of 5 spice powder, 3 tablespoons of vinegar, with a pinch of salt and pepper and mix with the cut chicken. Marinate it for as little as 5 minutes up to overnight.

  3. In a bowl, pour 1 cup of plain flour with a teaspoon of salt.

  4. Preheat your oven to 180°c.

  5. Prepare your baking tray with either aluminium foil or baking paper, spray a layer of cooking spray.

  6. Coat the marinated chicken in the prepared flour and place into the baking tray. Spray a layer of cooking spray on top and place into the oven for 20-30 minutes till golden brown and crispy.

Soy Garlic Sauce

  1. In a bowl mix 1 table spoon of honey, 0.5 table spoons of dark soy sauce and 1 table spoon of light soy sauce along with 1 grated clove of garlic.

  2. In a pan pour in the mixture, heat gently at medium low heat.

  3. Once the sauce starts to bubble, gently slide in the fried chicken and coat evenly with the sauce.

  4. PLATE and SERVE.
