FRIED CHICKEN WINGS


Crunchy, fragrant and so so so fun to eat. These little fried chicken wings may look like your classic KFC fried chicken wings but what you do not know is that it is packed with Asian flavours. Imagine the crunch of a good KFC with Asian flavours? If you are having trouble imagining it just have a go at making it.

A perfect side dish, finger food, party food or just a meal on its own. Paired with some SIRACHA or sweet chili you got yourself a great little meal right there. Super crunchy and so tender this little chicken wings will leave you coming back for more.


Ingredients

  1. 10 Chicken Wings

  2. 2tb of Light Soy Sauce

  3. 1tb of Oyster Sauce

  4. 1/2te Five Spice Powder

  5. 1ts of Garlic Powder

  6. 1tb of Shao Xing Wine

  7. 2tb of All Purpose Flour

  8. 2tb of Corn Flour

  9. 1/2te of White Pepper Powder

STEPS

  1. Dump your chicken wings into a large bowl.

  2. Time to add in the taste of Asia. Add in 2tb of light soy sauce, 1tb of oyster sauce, 1/2te of 5 spice powder, 1ts of garlic powder, 1tb of shao xing wine and 1/2te of white pepper powder.

  3. Give it a good mix around. Don't be scared to get yours hands in there!

  4. Once the chicken is perfectly coated with your sauces, add in 2tb of plain all purpose flour and 2tb of corn flour and give it a good mix around once again.

  5. Make sure each chicken wing is perfectly coated with flour, if its still too wet add in a bit more all purpose flour.

  6. Heat up a pot of oil to HIGH HEAT. You want it RIPPIN HOT!

  7. Gently drop your chicken into your pot of oil making sure to not over crowd the pot. Fry the wings on each side for 5-8 minutes till golden brown and KRISPEEEE.

  8. Once cooked set on a wire rack to drain off excess oil and serve with your favourite sauce!


Extra: You could do the exact same method for boneless pieces of chicken if you love a little Asian inspired chicken nugget.
