Some people might be turned off by the strong pungent smell of fermented black beans, but only the brave will ever get to taste its glory. A savory marinade wrapped around tender pieces of short ribs, this dish is not for the faint of heart.
Perfect to have for any meal, paired with rice, noodles or just by itself. This dish is for all who are adventurous enough to dwell into the depths of the fermented black bean. So are you brave enough?
Ingredients
500g of Chopped Spare Ribs
2tb of Black Beans
1te of Sesame Seed Oil
1te of Sugar
5 Cloves of Minced Garlic
1tb of Cooking Wine
1tb of Corn Flour
1 Thumb Sized Piece of Ginger
Chopped Red Chilli
STEPS
Wash 2tb of Smelly Black Beans and throw them into a bowl
Add in 1te of sesame oil, 1te sugar, 1tb cooking wine, 1tb corn flour, 1 THUMB Sized piece of ginger sliced thinly and 5 Cloves of minced Garlic (Yes we wanna kill a vampire here). Optionally you can add in some sliced red chills if you like it HOTTTTT (>_0)
Throw in your chopped spare ribs with some salt and coat evenly, let it marinate for 5 minutes or longer if you can. The longer your marinate it, the more tender the meat becomes all thanks to CORN FLOUR.
Prepare your preferred method of steaming and let the lovely ribs steam in the BAMBOO STEAMER for 15 minutes.
Carefully remove and you will be greeted with a lovely batch of steamed tender ribs, swimming in a lovely sauce of its own making. Serve with some rice or by itself and you will be a happy person.
